    ABOUT ORDERING

  • How do I place an order?
    Browse our products, add what you want to the basket, then when you’re done, click on the basket in the top right corner, go through checkout process, including signing up. Boom! Done. Our webshop is categorised based off product type, lifestyle type or dietary requirements. You can also use the ‘search’ bar at the top of the page.

  • Can I edit my order?
    If you need to update your order, please contact us: deliveries@8thday.coop and reference your order number (it's been sent to your email address). Please be aware that we are unable to edit orders where "local delivery" is the selected delivery method. In these instances we may need to create a secondary order to enable us to make the edits you require.

  • Can I order chilled products?
    Unless you’re local to us in Manchester and are choosing our local bicycle courier delivery or collection, chilled goods wouldn’t reach you in a good condition, and would be deemed unsafe to consume. For this reason, we only allow these items for local delivery or collection. If you add any chilled goods to your order, you must select the delivery options for local courier/local delivery or collection from us in store.

  • There was a problem with my order
    We’re sorry there was a problem. If you can’t find the answer you’re looking for in our FAQ’s, feel free to email us detailing the issue at deliveries@8thday.coop

  • Do you have any discounts right now?
    Under 'Your Rewards', you can earn points that will give you discounts. Read about it here.

    The best place to get our current discounts, offers and exclusives, is to sign up to our mailing list. We only send out marketing emails once a week, and promise it’ll only be what we’re up to, offers and new stuff.

  • How much can I order?
    We have not set a limit on how much can be ordered, but do be aware that the shipping is calculated from the weight of your order. Mail orders that weigh in excess of 15kg cannot be sent as a single parcel due to the constraints of the shipping company Evri. Additionally any orders must fit the size constraints set by Evri, who state that they will only ship parcels 120cm long or less, or parcels that have a combined maximum volume of 245cm. If you are ordering light, yet bulky goods, please bear this in mind, as we may need to make an additional charge if size constraints are exceeded.
  • If you are struggling to select the mail order option at checkout, this will usually indicate that you have exceeded the maximum weight limit set by the courier. One way of checking this is to remove a few items from your basket and try to see if this resolves the issue. Or get in touch with us as we may have to be dispatch the order in two separate deliveries, please be aware that this will incur an additional shipping charge.

  • Can I cancel my order?
    If you need to update your order, please contact us: deliveries@8thday.coop and reference your order number (it's been sent to your email address). Please note, we are not able to edit orders that have been placed for local deliveries.

  • Returns policy
    As per your statutory rights you are entitled to return any item that is deemed to be unsatisfactory quality, unfit for purpose or not as described. Should you be dissatisfied with your order, please email us at deliveries@8thday.coop and start your email with 'WEBSHOP'. quoting your order number.

 

  • When is payment processed?                                                                Payments are processed during the checkout process, however payments may not show immediately as this depends on your card provider.

 

  • ABOUT SHIPPING & TRACKING

  • Shipping Policy (the hows, whos and whens)
    For national mail-order delivery up to a maximum of 15kg we use Evri. We offer a standard delivery of 3-5 days from the date of processing or 'fast' delivery of 2 days. For fast delivery (2 days from the processing date), you must complete your order by 9:00am as the carrier needs your parcel at the designated collection point prior to 11am, otherwise, it will roll onto the next day's shipping. Evri do not ship orders on Saturday or Sunday, so please bear this in mind if selecting fast delivery on Fridays. We ship Monday - Friday. 
  • We may occasionally contact you regarding your delivery charge if you are located within a Location Charge Postcodes area. Some postcodes in the UK are unfortunately more expensive to deliver to for our carrier Evri, this is due to some areas requiring parcels to be sent using ferries or where they are located further from Evri depots. These deliveries are unfortunately subject to a further charge of £2.75 from Evri and these postcodes are also ineligible for Fast delivery.

  • Fruit & Veg Boxes, Wines and anything under 'Manchester local', are only available for local delivery in Manchester or for collection from us at 111 Oxford Rd, Manchester, M1 7DU. If your basket is only presenting you with local delivery or collection, and you would like Hermes delivery instead, check your basket for any items that say they are local delivery only, and remover them.

    For local delivery in Manchester, that includes 'Manchester Fresh' products, we use our local, eco-friendly bicycle couriers Chorlton Bike Deliveries, which is a fellow workers' co-operative and living wage employer. They deliver within a 5 mile radius of our physical store at a flat fee of £6+VAT. We currently ship every Friday with Chorlton Bike Deliveries.

  • Can I order things from 'Manchester Local' or things labelled 'Manchester Only' if I'm not in Manchester?
    In short, no. Fruit & Veg Boxes, Wines and anything under 'Manchester local', are only available for local delivery within 5 miles of us or for collection from us at 111 Oxford Rd, Manchester, M1 7DU. If your basket is only presenting you with local delivery or collection, and you would like Hermes delivery instead, check your basket for any items that say they are local delivery only, and remove them.

  • Tracking my order
    Depending on the courier you have chosen, there will be a tracking information available. Local deliveries sent via Chorlton Bike Co-op are currently dispatched on Fridays generally between 11:00am and 3:00pm.  On mail orders shipped with Evri, we cannot offer a designated day for your delivery, this is entirely up to the carrier and their logistics. Do check the tracking information that we send you as this will inform you of  your parcels progress.                                             
  • What kind of packaging do you use?
    We reuse & recycle cardboard boxes we receive as part of the deliveries we receive to ship your packages, this helps to keep waste low and stay as eco-friendly as possible. We also use paper tape instead of plastic, compostable starch chips and paper packing materials, that can all be recycled or composted. We may occasionally have to use plastic bubble wrap to keep certain items safe, but we reuse and recycle wherever we can. 

  • My order hasn’t arrived.
    You should have received a delivery day or tracking code for your courier, so you can see where your order is up to. Generally the courier will not class a parcel as being delayed or missing until the tracking indicates that the parcel  has not moved for 5 days (standard shipping) or 2 days (fast delivery). If you’re order has been delayed or your tracking number isn’t working, email us at deliveries@8thday.coop and we’ll try to track it down for you.

  • Can I collect from you?
    Absolutely, and it’s free! Just select ‘collection' from 111 Oxford Rd, Manchester, M1 7DU’ when you’re checking out, orders can generally be collected during the store's regular opening hours. Please note that as the store is closed on Sundays, any collection orders placed between 4:00pm on Saturday afternoon and 9:30am on Monday will not be available to collect until 10:30am on Monday mornings.

    If you’re a supplier and would like to work with us, please email us at mail@8thday.coop, and specify if you would like to work with our physical shop also.

  • Our webshop opening hours
    For fast delivery (1-2 days from order date), you must complete your order by 10am, otherwise, it will roll onto the next day's shipping. We ship Monday - Friday. 

  • On The Eighth Day Digital Gift Card
    will be emailed to the email you have given. It can be exchanged for any goods on our online shop, and can only be used digitally. It cannot be exchanged for cash and no change will be given. 
  • On The Eighth Day In-store Gift Vouchers 
    can be exchanged for any goods or services from the shop and café.  It cannot be used digitally. It cannot be exchanged for cash and no change will be given. Must be used within two years of purchase date. Not valid unless stamped with the official seal.
